The West Side Stadium was a green light.....the problem was that put enough capital to confront this and Sheldon Silver was pressured to vote no.

What is it now, 7 years later? Same old shit, new prostitutes.

I killed a Troegs Summah Samplah pack... I brought it because it was an American beer.

Our hosts went more with the England theme with Bass, Boddingtons, etc.

Interesting, good stuff, but Olympic stadium and Turnah Field seemed to hit these notes.

I think it was interesting they built this in east london. If you did it in NYC, thats what the west side stadium was all about I guess.

What a weiyud time we went through, I mean, looking back, would it have been a bad thing if the Yankees moved to the West Side?

Basically the closest test New York City has to getting a future Olympic selection would be seeing how the City handles the Superbowl in 2 years. But even that would pale in comparison to an event of that magnitude over a 2 week timeframe. Plus the construction of the main facilities like others have mentioned.

And this isn't even mentioning that NYC can't bribe the IOC.

I know it is India and not the US/UK so factor that into things here, but this article from a week or 2 ago shows the state of the facilities India built for the 2010 Commonwealth Games

Just falling apart and not being kept up at all.

Unreal, forgot about that. That was a pretty good and topic for a while there too, they got into it with a guy pushing for the stadium as I recall, right?

I'd werry most about da commute.

I would hate for DC to do it. It's bad enough when we get the Cherry Blossom Mongos. Olympic Mongos would shut down the city.

I'd probably be forced to work from home.... actually, on second thought.... maybe I do want the Olympics here.

I was having an exciting morning already, but the bike race has made it a scenario.

Can you just imagine the name dropping Mike would inflict on us had the Olympics been here??? Mike would have told us he had the President literally sitting behind him.
