You have to sign up for 2 years, but can "opt out" at any time. You also have to take the device with you everywhere. The more you use it, the more you can get paid or something like that.
That's pretty cool. I get email surveys all the time from Nielsen since we went to the CBS Television Center at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. We had to rate a pilot we watched. It was cool. After we did ours they asked my husband to be in a focus group the next day and they gave him $80 for an hour and a half. Well worth it!

Always love a great free-agent pickup. Welcome aboard, @darrenrovell. ESPN's all-star roster just got even deeper.

And that is why I can't stand ESPN. They MUST have every big name in the sports news business and if you aren't an ESPN employee you're dirt in their eyes, hence their need to tag stories first reported by other sources "Verified by ESPN"

We were contacted last year about becoming a Nielsen family...sent us a package in the mail with a $5 bill....wanted us to fill out a blank diary with what channel the TV was on every 15 minutes...a handwritten diary? every 15 minutes? what is this, the 70s?...

Why can't I get a calculatah like JayBee?

Exactly. I'll let them send me $50 every couple of months, why not? I can fill up my Jeep with it.

I have no idear how we were chosen, unless they just send out a blanket mailing to our neighborhood.

Rovell is such a :rovell:

Scheftah I don't mind because he's usually on top of things NFL-wise (more often than not) and he is pretty well-connected.

She had no idear what it was, just questions about what she watches and listens to. So then they called and asked us if we wanted to be monitors. Anyone over the age of 6 has to walk around with this contraption either clipped onto a belt or in their pocket. And if we do it, they'll send everyone eligible $50. Also they have "raffles" weekly and on the weekend for $500 and $250 we are eligible to win. After 90 days we get the $50 but the more you wear it and report in, the more often you get paid.

My only concern is the device, I hope it's not something bulky.
Doesn't that kinda taint the results? Like basically, their results are the viewing habits of people that have time to fill our surveys for $5

Not sure. Maybe it's the only way to get people to fill out the survey? It's why my wife did it.

2 Shades of Bread

They are a sports program and should leave the Sandusky trial to the news outlets. Also, the NBA Finals are on and deserve the most attention.

Do the Mets have a day game?
