There is an article in today's Newsday about a couple of pro wrestlers in the WWE from Long Island who trained at his wrestling facility down the street from where I work. I remember stumbling across the ECW one late night on MSG and going, "what the hell is this?" It was some wild stuff, and he was some sort of lovable loser.

I Googled his name and he "retired" in 2001 to pursue that but he returned to wrestling.

I just remember that ECW stuff was crazy. One match someone in the crowd took off his prosthetic hand and gave it to a wrestler who started hitting his opponent with it.

Tanks.

Me and da kid in Seattle binked on the ovah in yesterdee's Dutch/Pawchigal matchup.

The Mediar twists everything. I'm learning this first-hand now. She was actually a pleasant older lady...retiyid Librarian scenario.

I'll just go rapid fire with these.
  • Friday was probably one of the more difficult days of my life. The magnititude of what was placed on our shoulders wasn't realized until deliberations. Hearing them read guilty on certain counts and hearing the sobs/cries of his family was really tough to take. Most, if not all of us, were overcome with emotion when we came back to the room.
  • What made this tough was the fact that Guptar wasn't the douchbag that he may be depicted to be. We geniunely believed in his story of rising to the top and coming from nothing. He's also done a ton of yumanitarian werk. Unfortunately, that had nothing to do with this case. We strictly based our decisions off of the evidence/testimony and the judge's instructions.
  • When in doubt, we gave him the benefit of the doubt.
  • Raj Rajaratnam is a scumbag who should never see the light of day. And yet, he's only in jail for 11 years. I hope Guptar doesn't get sentenced for a long period of time, but...
  • ...since he's the biggest fish in the pond for the government in this Wall St. Insider Trading crackdown - I think they'll make an example out of him on sentencing, which is unfortunate.
  • The Mediar has been hounding me all weekend. Coming to my house, wall to wall calls to my house...calling my parents house (my previous residence). I mean they said that the media would try to contact us after the trial, but I didn't know it was like this. NY Times, London Times, Indiar News, Wall St. Journal, Mike Francesa's 10 Seconds of Glory, Bloomberg News. I mean leave me alone folks, I'm not going to say something that's going to put my family at risk or anything.
  • I will never serve on a jury ever again. I learned so much and became very emotionally attached to this case (since I couldn't talk about it) and I just wouldn't do it again. I don't care what I have to say...."I used to date his daughtah, he doesn't remembah" or..."I useda cut his lawrn...he doesn't remembah" - whatever it takes to get out of this federal jury duty nonsense. County cawt? Sure, sign me up for a 3 day trial to see whethah or not the guy should get rewarded for punitive damages...I won't lose any sleep over that. But this stuff where the guy could spend the rest of his life in jail?
  • I missed the board.
  • Did Derrick Rose really tear his ACL or was that just something I dreamt?
  • Have we already exhausted the "What if Dupp were walking on the tightrope ovah Niagarar?" meme or did that never take off?
  • What happened to the tags?
  • It was bound to happen eventually, but Lebron James is having an NBA Finals for the ages. He's gonna win a ring and deservedly so. Good for him. Wade can go treehouse himself.
Wow, back with a and some from inside the, ugh, justice system, the penal system, the justice system, ok?

Welcome back and great job out of hugh with the civic service, the whole bit.

ECW did push the violence and mature story lines - but they mixed in some great technical wrestling too

there are some other fed's out there that are much more violent (XPW, CZW, etc.) - but they are basically just that and, to me, not even really wrestling feds

Yeah they used to air it on Sportschannel at like 1 am on Saturdays. I worked at a KB Toys when it was in full swing and they gave us a promotional copy of a ECW video game. It was the worst video game Ive ever played

No, it was poor Dave at a table for ten by himself. He mushed his own lunch.

I had a couple meetings I couldn't get out of so I missed it...but I think it had already whittled down to just Dave and I.

I did meet Dave that Saturday though.

I also use to watch the Texas wrestling on MSG. Sometimes they would have it at old Texas Stadium and it looked like there were 15 people there.

Nothing is better then the Sunday afternoon show on TBS that was filmed at the TV studio with about 30 kids sitting in bleachers watching the matches.
