Eh, you might have taken a loss on that.

RPI offered me my choice of game-worn jerseys for $200 each. I handwaved that.

White Thrashers jersey was an underrated jersey. I always liked the old Whaler jerseys, before they added the navy blue, which wasn't a bad look, but I like the green one better.

I wish the Bruins would switch back to their jerseys from the 70s, with the little bear patch on the shoulder. The Canucks should keep their colors but go to the "stick in a box" logo full time.

You know what was a stunning jersey...Rockies home whites. If I could get one of those, I would.

I would have worn it, not sold it. This was waaaaay before the internet and jersey collecting going :gagar:.

I have a BU game worn jersey from 1990. Guy lost his scholarship, so they were selling the jersey for $35. My buddy went to BU, called and asked if I wanted it and I was like, "hell yeah!" I still have it. Nice jersey, has puck marks on it and everything. #26 from 1990...whoever you are, I have your jersey!

You have no long term emotions invested in these kids. Thats what I kept thinking when I watched a lil of the game last night..the Kentucky kids looked like high schoolers and will be gone after this year. When they get on the court next year to defend their championship it will be all new players.
Some host on Mad Dog radio was going over the recent one and done players a few days ago. After he went over the list I was saying Who are these guys? Most of them are history and in Europe.....but making some nice money.

I used to watch hockey very regularly as a kid but never pledged allegiance to a certain team (football and baseball consume all the rooting energy I have to give). For me, it seemed to fall off when Gretzky retired, Eric Lindros' brain started dripping out his ears, and the game got a little bland in the years leading up to the lockout. The rule changes have spiced things up, but hockey needs star power to reclaim to position it once had. It's starting to reach that point again, but it's not yet back to where it was in the mid-'90s or so.

The biggest problem? The sports fan who isn't a hockey buff doesn't know who any of these guys are - they all look alike, and many of them aren't American and/or don't speak fantastic English. That differs from baseball and basketball (where you can make facial recognition of the players more easily), and football (where the sport is just marketed so extremely well and things like gambling and fantasy rope every average Tom, Dick, and Harry into the mix.)

The one I'm really ticked that I didn't buy was the original Thrashers red. It was a medium so it didn't quite fit me...a bit tight. I should have bought that thing.

As for the Canucks, I like the bearded dude. Stick in a box would be an acceptable alternative.

Ugh have to make an account to see the images, and that will just lead to tons of junk mail

The NA site is really clunky to use, I'm not even sure I'm looking through the right buncha files.

For the most part by nature hockey players are quiet and reserved. The best players in the league...Stamkos, Malkin, Crosby, King Henrik, Parise are all pretty reserved. With the SportsCenter age you need a star player to be a wild personality or a galvanizing figure like Lebron in order to get attention

As for the guys speaking English...

However, there are a lot of American born players in the NHL. The Captains of the Rangers and Devils are both Americans. The guys who have the most trouble speaking the language seem to be the Russian guys. The guys from Sweden, some of them you would never know were from out of the country.

A good friend of mine, professor of all things, human sex (nice job, right?) is playing me in a very tough WwF game. She doesn't know what's coming (no pun intended). I've got her cornered.

The Thrashers third jerseys, both of them, were just atrocious.

I was also disappointed by the Jets choice of uniform. The wordmark is stupid, too.

I have a "Christmas tree" Devils jersey somewhere at my parents. The deck hockey team I played for in 1989 was called the Devils, so we wore the white jerseys. It was a cheap replica.
