Seeding was based on a few factors: game popularity, sales, historical impact, and overall game quality.

Basically every game represented in the bracket had historical impact on the Classic Video games era. (sometimes for the WRONG reasons as is the case with ET)

I also turned to some top ten lists to get a better feel for where certain games would stack up for their seeding. That's why I changed SMB3 from a 3 seed to a 1 seed.

I also use my personal rankings based on all of the above plus my own experience. That's probably one reason Smash TV wasn't ranked higher. If I did it again, I'd put Smash as a 10 or 11 and maybe put Dragons Lair as 15th.
