He then tried to kill further and potentially embarrassing discussion of the play as old, insignificant news — after he had made a big deal of it!

haha, wasn't quite that bad ... actually my daughter was already asleep when I got home so when she woke up in the middle of the night and I went in to check on her she was super excited/surprised/happy to see me, so that was great

I have a meeting at 11am so just hoping to make it that far and then will head home

I get all that, but I think it's being blown way out of proportion. And how many people have thought the same thing? If they were on the plane something different would have happened, they would have stepped up and done something, etc..

He doesn't owe anyone any money and he doesn't have to come to NYC to pay any respects. He said he was sorry, that should be enough.

Just a guess but Mike was telling some caller that the fumble call was ruled a fumble on the field, then reversed. The caller said it was a fumble, then changed to no fumble, and the play stood as called...no fumble.

I was talking to my wife about this....I dont think he said anythign terrible. I think the idiots who say 9/11 is a conspiracy are more offensive than Mark Wahlberg. He said if he was on the plane with his wife and kids hed like to think it would have ended up with him saving them...Id like to think the same thing if it were me in that spot. Doesnt everyone else think that too?

Exactly, I said something similar in post #66.....he's probably not alone with that thought. Hell, if he was on the plane I'd expect him to do something....guy is ripped and he probably has some sort of hand to hand fighting training from making movies.
