I used to live with this same guy, just the two of us, and eventually the house looked like his car, just random shit everywhere. McDonalds cups half full of soder, wrappers everywhere, packaging from god knows what, bullet casings from when we went shooting, anything he needed just once but not again.

What would be gross is when he'd order chinese food, he'd always get wonton soup and eat half and leave it out in the living room. Then he'd put the bones from the spareribs in glasses half full of water because he didn't feel like getting up from the couch to throw them out.

I cleaned for a while, but then I just gave up to try to see how long it would take for him to pick it up himself. He never did. Once I got back from a weeklong trip and walked into the house, and had to turn around and walk out. I called my cop buddy and said I was coming over his apartment instead, because I couldn't deal with it.

Now that I live with the cop as well, it's easier to regulate. I swore the house would never look like the old house again, so we yell at him a lot.

It's like he'll cook something, I'll be like "clean up that shit in the kitchen"

He'll put his plate and fork in the sink and forget about the packaging from whatever he cooked and the pan on the stove.

So he'll put the pan in the sink and leave the packaging out.
