Troo story: I had never heard of this song but in 1990 I visited by buddy at BU and got friendly with a co-ed in his dorm and we started "dating," long distance scenario. She actually lived in Louisiana but went to school at BU. She sent me a letter and it had a cassette tape in with this song. There was another song on the tape too, "Wish You Were Here." I was an enawmous Floyd guy back then, so I liked that more.

This was before email, downloads and recordable CDs, kids.

That's awful. All for a silly ball. But it was for his kid, so I can see why he wanted the ball.

As most people know, youtube videos have comments and people can give them thumbs up if they like them. I made a comment on a Moody Blues official youtube ("In Your Wildest Dreams") last year and then I was surprised to see it was the highest rated comment on a video with almost 2 million views. After a month or so, they replace the highest rated comment with something newer. So after awhile I added the same comment again, and once more it became the highest rated comment. It was replaced again after a month or so. Last week I added the same comment back again, and bingo, it is the highest rated comment for the third time! Sorry for this self indulgent story but the sensitive, reflective side of HOWL has touched the masses.

Here is the video, with the "samspinchat" (me) comment:

I just saw the video, how they did not have a border or at least a net between the rail and the scoreboard, I have no clue. What a horrible incident.

You should have stopped by. We could have looked for that baboon that escaped from Great Adventure.

Hope you enjoyed your outing.

On Mike & Mike they said the guys name was Shannon Stone and he was a local fireman and that they son is in the 6-8 year old range

... just awful. Hopefully this will cause teams to look at their stadiums and put up nets where appropriate - but I hope this doesn't swing things too far by having 15 foot high plexiglass walls everywhere or something, or not allowing players to throw balls into the stands

It's probably pretty lucky there aren't more accidents. I made a comment on Foot's picture of the seats he got at Citifield about how steep it looked and that someone could go over the railing if they leaned too far.
