it's just crazy how many round there are ... I can't imagine once you get into like the 44th round how much focus you have left ... must be like the end of a fantasy draft where you just pick a guy some scout liked and hope for the best

meanwhile you will probably see analysts saying "well, I like him as a prospect but was a bit of a read in round 42, they could have waiting to draft him until round 48 I feel"

Michael Vick was drafted in the 30th Round in 2000 by the Rockies.. without playing ball since his junior year in high school

I think with the draft especially (but really your whole minor leagues) you have to view it as acquiring assets ... whether they stay with your team or you use them in trades, they are assets

So the best thing to do is draft players that you like and other teams like and would like to have and have high ceilings and stand out a bit

There are a million of these games now. Although I remember back in '85 going over a Mets/Cubs series in early June. Four game series at Shea and the Mets swept them. Of course I was 14 and only use to the Mets being good for a year, so it's a little different then getting excited for another Sox/Yanks series.
