Looking forward to Monday... The reboot for the Mets...

Paul DePodesta is working hard to prepare for next week’s MLB Draft, according to Anthony DiComo and MLB.com. “It’s exhausting,” DePodesta tells DiComo. “But at the same time, I don’t think there’s anything more rewarding for an organization than to draft or sign a player, a homegrown player, and then develop him through the system.”

i hate to admit this but i was lurking at the other boahd...and someone made a good point.

anyone heard 's commercial for a carbon monoxide detector where he says that he moved into new house, plugged in a detector, it beeped, he ignored it and slept all night, then finally called the cops...the cops said there was a dangerous level of CO in the house...

could this be the most ridiculous commercial ever made? he would surely have died overnight if this was true....

I liked last week when he had a "Cap moment". It really brought a voice to the posts.

Part of the TC rant...

Quote:
“I don’t know how to describe (the 7th inning). I’m sick of trying to describe 7th innings. … I’ll tell you what, Andrew McCutchen plays the game right. That son of a bitch runs down there 3.9, 4 flat, and you better catch it and execute it. He gets a ground ball to third base and beats it out. That’s how you play, and that’s how we’ve got to start playing. … I’m running out of ideas here. You know, do we play hard? Absolutely. That’s not the issue. The issue is not effort. It’s about execution. We need to add on points when we get the lead. I’m not looking for home runs. I’m looking for quality at bats. We can’t make careless mistakes, but we do. We give up at bats. We can’t do that. We don’t have that kind of team. … Make no mistake about it, I truly believe in the players we have. I don’t care where they started the season. I don’t care. I don’t care who were All Stars, who weren’t All Stars, this is a team thing; it’s not one guy, it’s not two guys; it’s a team thing. I sit up here every night trying to figure out what can we do to get us over the top. Should we hit and run more? Well, who do you have up there? You have guys up there you shouldn’t hit and run with. Should we bunt more? Well, if we don’t get bunts down, then you’re putting them in situations to fail. Guys are pitching good, but we get in situations where when guys need to make a pitch they don’t make the pitch. I don’t have the answers. I’m searching. I’m ringing the rag dry, coming in here, having to look at you guys looking at me like I’m a stinking fool. I told these guys, ‘We’re good enough, but we have to play the game right.’ We just can’t continue to make foolish mistakes. … They’re big-league players. They should be able to do it. They should be able to do it. I don’t know if it’s not anticipating the play. I’m not in their minds. But, it’s how you play the game. This is a team thing. And, I’m not just pointing the finger at the players. I told the coaches, ‘We’ve got to do a better job, we’ve got to take responsibility for this.’ I’m the manager. It comes back on my shoulders. … In that 7th inning, those were my players I put out there, who I believe in. So, therefore, maybe I need to make some adjustments. And, by God, they’ll be made. I don’t know it comes with finding different players. But, they’ll be made. Something’s going to be changing.”

I was hoping for a little OT action but I was also tired and needed to get to bed. It was just like an OT goal though. However I thought the Canucks caught a break as I thought that was offsides. Hoping for a little OT on Saturday night. I'm going out with my cousin and her husband for dinner (he's from RI and a Bruin fan, but not an enawmous one, more Pats and Sox), then out to some bar with my brother in law and his wife to see her friends band play or something. So hopefully I'll be getting home when the first OT is starting.

Weiner is a clown... He got caught and he is lying about this. However, he will skate free. And eventually be your Mayor NYC!!! Congratulations!
I'm really liking Terry Collins - but where does he go from here? You can only blow up so much ... and if the team is trying hard and busting it as best they can, sometimes you just aren't good enough

you take the leadoff and number 3 and 5 hitters out of most line-ups and those teams won't be so great. You can only rely on Justin Turner so much

Yes... And for the early rounds are not going to worry about signability...

Pick #13 should be someone good who could be up in 2013.

Well, exactly... There are few options at this point...

My CO detector went off once. My wife was out and I was home with our son, who was like 5 months old and my stepson. As soon as I heard that thing chirp I grabbed my little guy, my stepson grabbed the pets and we got the hell out of there and I called the fire dept.. Turns out it was nothing, the batteries needed changing. I felt like a clown but one of the firemen said I did the right thing. He then explained that the thing has different chirps, one for a batter change and one for a warning. is a fool to ignore that thing.

May you all have a pet that loves you and vice versa.

Indere, I'm so sorry to hear that. Our dog Lucky hasn't been the same since we had to put Shea down. She looks around the house for him, hasn't eaten much since he's been gone. She misses her friend. I'm sure the cat was loved as much as the cat loved you.

Sorry once again to hear that news.
