Parachuting in on the Funtime issue:
We both have mutual friends, and I'm friends with him on Facebook. He seems like an intelligent, talented, overall good guy. He gets into debates with an old classmate of mine from high school, especially since they have opposing religious and political viewpoints, but it's all in good-hearted nature. I loved his Photoshops and he did have a genuine love for the board. Just sad to see him go, but I can't disagree with the banning.

Re: Funtime I'll start by saying that the mods here do a stellar job in terms of keeping the place running smoothly. There really is never any need to moderate other than spam bots. Everyone gets along here. There is an occasional war, but things are over with quickly and that's usually the end of it. Funtime did bring up discussions that many did not agree with. Just because he said things people don't agree with doesn't mean he should be banned. I understand that some folks don't like how he said the things. Apparently he was too mean or too hurtful with his posts. I don't feel he was. I firmly believe he was not targeting any single poster here with his diatribes and sweeping generalizations. He was friendly with everyone, whether they agreed with him or not. If a few posters didn't like his discussions they can simply continue scrolling down or put him on ignore. There is no reason to ban a guy that clearly loved this site. He made banners, most of our smileys, and awesome photoshops that he loved to share. Funtime was one of the best posters on this site. I hate censorship more than Funtime hates religion. It is an absolutely terrible thing. It leads to things like what is going in Syria.* There are plenty of things groups or people say that I don't agree with. But this is the United States and they're more than welcome to say whatever they please. I encourage them too. And what I disagree with I either ignore or debate or fight. *I understand banning someone on a message board is nothing compared to killing innocent protestors, but I'm talking about censorship in general. I love this place, but I think the mods made the wrong decision here.

My main issue with him was 1) his verbal 'attacks' on those that disagreed with him 2) The obsession with taking over threads to make them go in a direction he wants them to go. If the board was not talking about Funtime, something was wrong and he'd make sure to correct that. This site was created in part due to disagreements on how exactly a message board should be run. It was a gamble of sorts by a small group of us to leave such a popular site and move on. But it's worked I'd say. If any member, not just Funtime disagrees with the way the place is run to the point they feel they can't stay, what exactly are we supposed to do? Yah move on, yah find another outlet to express your opinions. There are no binding long term contracts here. It's a revolving door of people that come, some stay a long time and become invaluable members of the place, some poke around and dont post, some post for a week and never come back. It happens. It's an internet message board. Funtime is one of the better users of media (facebook/twitter/his blog/photshops) to express himself I've seen, and way more savvy at that kind of stuff than I am, trust me, he'll be OK. Deep down I don't think he's a bad dude whatsoever. We've had some cordial PM's actually. Just one of those things that happen, some people hate the decision, some agree with it, most couldnt give a shit in the end.

You and I have been over this once before. What's done is done and I understand the reason for your decision. I just disagree with it.
