I agree with this, but I still think the people who have their dials glued to WFAN wouldn't bother to spin them.

On the laurels of the massive success of M&tMD - the station persists.

Don't discount the laziness factor of the common , nor the inherent unwillingness to change or try new things. (This persists in other areas of life too...... )

You don't think B&C and J&E are successful based on the merits of their sports and broadcasting acumen? I mean, seriously, read that sentence. Both duos are hovering at the Forrest Gump level.

oh no doubt the station was built on the strength of Mike & the Mad Dog, along with Imus in the morning and (strange as it may sound) Met games as when the station started the Mets were actually good


The only argument I can have is that Boomer and Cart00n's ratings are higher than other shows they have had in the morning (including when Mike and Dog covered the time slot) so they must be brining in something new

Good morning all. I think Imus got better ratings than B&C on WFAN though I don't have those numbers. He did beat them in the latest rating period.

Morning drive ratings:

Imus on WABC finished seventh with a 4.4. WOR and John Gambling finished eighth with a 4.1. Ninth place went to WNYC FM with a 3.2 and the 10th spot went to WFAN with a 3.1.

Imus was the absolute worst, everytime Id turn him on he'd be playing some dopey country western song or interviewing his brother. But back then you always had stern to turn on so it was no harm no foul
