My dream offseason for the Jets would be to sign Leron Landry to play S, Kareem Mackenzie to play RT and someone like Shaun Hill to backup Sanchez. Then go out and draft Nick Perry or Courtney Upshaw to play OLB, Nick Toon in the 2nd round to be the big red zone threat and another safety and OL in the middle rounds.

My worst is fear is they continue to neglect the Safety and OLB positions. I dont think the offense is that hard to fix...get a decent RT and start running the ball again. Id lvoe to see them get a guy like Brian Leonard to add to the rb and be the 3rd down back to pick up blitzes and catch the ball

The biggest obvious issue is covering opposing TE's. I know from a personel they were deficient. On the other hand, and I'm no expert but, it's easy to see that the scheme leaves the middle wide open. *the exception being last year NE playoff game.

The only bad thing is that the defense needs to hold teams who average 30pts/game to 17 and under. I think the Jets are in trouble.

Agree. But I think is smarter than people give him credit for and knows all of this. My hope is he/Tannenbaum cuts the guys who suck on defense - Scott, Smith, etc. With Callahan gone I am guessing his project o-linemen are gone too - Hunter/Mulligan especially.

Rex will say dumb stuff sometimes, but I think a lot of it is calculated risk. I still trust him as a defensive-minded head coach provided there is a "proven" offensive coordinator - is Sparano that guy? I don't know. But it was definitely time for a change given how horrible the Jets looked on offense for most of the year, and especially the last three games where the lack of preparation and game focus really hurt them.
