2011.07.25 - Get the Bus loaded up with the training camp gear

welp, looks like today might be the day that it is announced that football is fully back

... though, given that Mike is in today and tomorrow, I expect it to get pushed back until Wed.

hope everyone had a nice weekend and didn't over-heat

morning all

oh, and the Mets have signed supplemental first round round pick Michael Fulmer for $937.5K. This is the largest deal for a player outside of the first round of this year's draft so far and is $160.8K more than the commissioner's office's recommended slot amount of $776.7K for the 44th overall pick.

so, so far, the team/Sandy are true to their word of being willing to go over slot

In we trust.

They are also signing a few of the 'hard to sign' high school arms from the later rounds which is also a good sign.

Mawnin folks...this is why love listening to FAN in da cah on da weekends:

In the span of 3 calls to Malusis I heard this

You think the Mets should trade Reyes and Bay to the Red Sox for da Japanese guy (Dice K who just underwent Tommy John) and a pospect?

If da Mets dont resign Beltran its cause of Madoff and the Wilpons need to sell the team

Im a Red Sox fan, any chance the Mets trade them Reyes and Wright before the deadline?

I find that the less I listen to sports radio, the better off I am.

This morning when I turned on the TV it was on ch. 1035 for some reason, which is some version of ESPN. Mike & Mike talking about Favre going to the Eagles . Then the little Mike goes, "Up next a trend in sports I don't like and I'll tell you about in 3 minutes." Honestly, I was interested in hearing this, but I'm not waiting 3 minutes for it .

And I LOVE my 3 day weekends this summer, but I hate Monday mornings now. Friday I took my son and stepson to a little water park 5 minutes from our house, then we walked around the marina and checked out some boats. Saturday was a graduation party....ehhh, not a lot of fun for me, but the kids had a good time. And yesterday my son and I had a day to ourselves, we went to the LI Train Museum then to Bertucci's for lunch. Pretty good day.

Sounds like a STELLAH weekend.

Thoughts on the new Jets logos?

Morning everyone. In the office scenario before flying out to do site visits in NY all week.

Since we've been doing such a good job, they gave us twice as many this week as in any of the prior weeks.

It's ridiculous. We're just barely able to finish the 90-100 that they have had us do by starting visits at 8am, going through 5pm (when the unionized workers we are dealing with go home), then we write things up until midnight. I fly back Fridays and work from home until midnight to finalize things.

Unless they're giving us two weeks to do this, I don't know how it's possible to crank out 190 this week.

Let the Edwards vs. Holmes debate begin!

I still think I'd pay more attention to the defense and shoring up the secondary, aka, resign Cro, but we'll see.

Also, I kept my radio on last night. Woke up at 1am to hear Rubinson screeching at a Jason Bay to the Pirates for two of their best prospects,

Jets #1 priority has to be re-signing Holmes I think. If the cap stays at 120 like Petah King says (I thought it was going up to 140???) then they would have to restructure alot of contracts before they could even think about making a splash in free agency. Id really love to see them bring back Wayne Hunter to fill in at RT too

Who would they get for a DE/pass rusher? I have that feeling they'll stick with Taylor since there aren't many out there.

Under the new cap, Revis Sanchez and Harris account for almost 30% of the Jets cap. If they restructure Sanchez and Revis and sign Harris to a long term deal as well as restructure a few other deals and have the dead money count , they could have as much as $30 mill to play with. Id love to see them sign Kam Wimbley from the Raidahs to a respectable contract and have him be a 3/4 pass rusher
